16 April 2017—
15 April is traditionally the deadline to file U.S. federal tax returns. Thousands of protestors gathered on Saturday, 15 April for a “Tax March” around Bryant Park in Manhattan to demand that President Donald Trump release his tax returns.
A rally began outside Bryant Park on 6th Avenue around 13:00.
Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer, one of the speakers, spoke to protesters at Bryant Park during the “Tax March”.
It was crowded on 6th Avenue, hundreds of protesters had to wait at Bryant Park to join the “Tax March”
Attendees marched from Bryant Park to Trump Tower,
Politicians, including Manhattan Borough President Gale Brewer (3rd from left), NY State Sen. Brad Hoylman and Public Advocate Letitia James (5th from left) marched too, to call for President Donald Trump to release his tax returns.
Protesters marched carrying “What are you hiding?”, “Chicken! Show us your taxes”, “ Show me yours, I’ll show you mine” sign and chanting.
On the way I saw only two Trump fans holding “Thank God for Trump”, “Build the Wall” signs and yelling at the “Tax March” attendees.
The rally ended at 55th Street and 5th Avenue, one block before heavily barricaded Trump Tower, and police officers ordered protesters to disperse immediately.
“It was a very peaceful protest and there were no arrests” organizers said.
