Mayor Eric Adams delivered remarks on Saturday, 9 July at a Celebration of Eid Al Adha (Kurban Bayramı) event at Bush Terminal Piers Park in Brooklyn.
“ The Power of prayer can not only be our master, the power of faith can not be made in a sterilized environment where we call a place of worship. It is now to take it out into the communities,” Adams said, And explained how to do it.
Mayor Adams: “If we want to end homelessness, go out and help our brothers, sisters that are living on the street. That’s what our faith calls us to do. Let’s go talk to young people who are carrying guns and bring them in to our mosque, synagogue, church, temple. This is our obligation and responsibility.”
“I need you more than when I needed during my campaign.”
“ That’s why I am here with you today my brothers and sisters that was part of this journey with me for so many years. I need you more than when I needed you during my campaign.”
“ The campaign got me elected, I need you now to campaign to bring our city and country back. The country is watching New York. If New York gets it right then the entire country will get it right
.”He sounded like he was campaigning or practicing to campaign again soon.”
“Thank you for allowing me to be with you, and thank you for you support, let’s move forward together.”

Mayor Adams waited until the end of prayer to chat with prayers.
After the ceremony people started leaving right away.
asked some of them: “ why in a hurry?”
One said: “ Because It is Eid Al Adha (Kurban Bayramı). Some madereservations to go to restaurants, and some ordered food to be delivered home.
But some stayed longer to enjoy the view, the weather, and to take selfies.
