New York’s 51st Annual Village Halloween Parade celebrated on Thursday, 31 October and brought lots of people to enjoy. The Parade started at Canal St. and 6th Avenue (for participants in Costume Only)
and went up 6th Avenue to 15th Street on 6th Avenue.
I like to start from my neighborhood. A small street with decorated townhouses. Homeowners, adult or children, like to dress up and, be ready to serve.
Trick or treat??? © h. nazan ışık
Well, for them it is always a treat. Not only one candy but a handful of chocolate they serve with a big smile and in costume.
Some costumed people can be seen on a bus or subway.

The parade always brings hundreds of Giant Puppets, dancers, bands representing music from around the world, great imaginations of marchers with images/art works and costumes.
The 2024 Parade Theme was MEOW!!!

Police officers weren’t very happy about it.

So many dancers, and some marchers in huge but beautiful costumes, made the parade very enjoyable to watch. © h. nazan ışık
Police officers started getting together. It was getting late.
